The Art of Quilling, a brief history
Paper quilling, also known as paper filigree, is an intricate art form that dates back centuries. Nuns and monks used this art form to decorate religious artifacts during the Renaissance period. Gilded paper strips were carefully rolled, shaped and glued to create beautiful designs. Early quilling artists found inspiration in the gold and silver filigree work which was popular during that time.
Original handcrafted art work at a reasonable price. Ornaments range from $10.00-$15.00.
It all began when I purchased a simple quilling kit. Since that first project I have been on an endless quest to find the best paper, the most interesting gemstones and the most decorative ribbons to enhance my designs. I love experimenting with color combinations and design possibilities. I find quilling to be so relaxing that I have amassed more than 150 ornaments. I love to share my ornaments. I hope my craft bring people as much joy as it brings me in creating them.
